I’ve been working in digital media since 2000, first as the co-founder of the digital entertainment studio Artificial Environments in London, later as Creative Director at The Group and Virtual Identity, and today at Ray Sono in Munich.
Over the years, my work has gradually expanded from branding and interface design to design systems, Design Operations and creative leadership. Throughout that time, I’ve remained interested in the relationship between design, technology and the people behind them. I’ve worked with organisations of many different sizes, helping them create products and digital experiences that are not only useful for people, but practical for teams to create and maintain.
While my role has evolved over time, I’ve never moved very far away from the work itself. I still spend a good deal of time sketching ideas, refining interfaces and thinking about how individual components fit together to form a coherent whole.
Over time, my perspective has gradually expanded from craft to context: how teams collaborate, how design scales across products and platforms, and how new technologies can support creative work.
Much of my recent work has focused on healthcare, where I’ve helped establish design systems, content frameworks, governance models and new ways of working across international teams.
More recently, I’ve also been exploring how AI can support creative work and make complex processes more efficient.
Looking back, a common thread runs through almost all of my work. Whether the challenge involves a brand, an interface, a product or an organisation, I’m usually trying to do the same thing: bring clarity, structure and consistency to complexity.
The best work tends to come from people who care equally about ideas, execution and collaboration. That’s the kind of work I continue to enjoy.
